Help AI work resume with the right context—not the entire history.

Pegasus Cortex remembers the useful state of a project, brings back only the information needed for the current task, and keeps approved local actions separate from stored knowledge. That lets work continue after an interruption without treating memory as permission.

For a hiring managerCortex shows how I approach a common AI problem: preserve enough project knowledge to continue useful work, avoid flooding the model with an entire history, protect private information, and keep the ability to act under separate human-approved rules.

The problem

AI work should not restart from zero—or reload everything—each time.

A model’s working memory is temporary. Loading an entire history can be slow, noisy, and less useful than bringing back the few facts that affect the current decision. At the same time, stored notes should never silently gain the power to direct or authorize an action.

Cortex gives each task a clear identity, restores a short starting brief, lets the system find and read selected records when needed, and saves meaningful progress for the next session. Permission to act remains a separate decision.

How it works

Start with a short project brief, then retrieve details only when they matter.

Recognize the work

Each request starts with a clear task and project identity.

Find what matters

A compact brief establishes the current state; short search results identify records before their full contents are loaded.

Work + verify

Current source and real system behavior remain the evidence; remembered context is supporting information.

Make work recoverable

Important updates, decisions, and project knowledge support continuation and handoff without storing raw conversations.

Cortex retrieves and preserves the minimum useful state around current verified work.

More than memory storage

Remembering information, tracking work, and taking action are three different responsibilities.

Continuity

A stable task identity and short starting state let work resume without rebuilding every prior conversation.

Knowledge

Project, shared, and user-specific information stays separated and is retrieved only when relevant.

Actions

File, process, development, and administrative work is available only through named operations with explicit limits.

The separation matters: a remembered fact can inform a decision, but it cannot grant new permission, redefine the project, or authorize an action.

Cerebral integration

Cortex handles memory and approved local actions so Cerebral can focus on the person’s work.

Cerebral owns the working experience, models, specialist roles, jobs, questions, and modules. Cortex supplies the stable project identity, selected context, saved checkpoints, and approved local actions underneath it. Each system stays focused while sharing one reliable way to resume work.

Before workCerebral receives a short task-aware brief rather than an entire history.
During workSpecialist roles can find selected project information when they need it.
When taking actionNamed operations preserve clear scope, permission, and useful failure information.
At handoffThe meaningful state and next action remain available for another session or approved tool.

My role

Designed memory that supports decisions without taking control away from the person.

Information boundariesSeparated project, shared, and user-specific knowledge and kept remembered content passive.
Selective retrievalRequired short previews before full records are loaded so relevance can be judged first.
Work lifecycleDefined objectives, verified state, blockers, next actions, checkpoints, and completion behavior.
Local integrationConnected approved local operations and required installation and updates to preserve the project data.

Current result

An installed foundation that active local workflows use to remember, resume, and act safely.

Cortex has restored compact startup context, found and read selected records, preserved project tasks and knowledge, supported approved local operations, and retained its data through installation and update work. Cerebral uses that foundation as part of its local work environment.
